ICAP Condemns Terrorist Attacks

The Imamia Community  Association of Peterborough would like to express its deep shock and sadness at the recent terrorist attacks in London over the weekend and in Manchester a few weeks before. Our thoughts go out to all the innocent lives that have been needlessly taken away from their loved ones.

The ideologies that spawn such hate and violence are not representative of our faith and religion, rather they are alien to it.

Islam, at its core promotes brotherliness and dignified cooperation between all humans, irrespective of faith.  It saddens us so, that fanatics are carrying out such sickening acts of depravity in Islam's name.

ICAP stand firm and resolute in its condemnation of anyone that adheres to beliefs that promote any act of violence.

To strengthen our resolve, and to protect our organisation against such ideologies, a vetting process will take place to ensure that all committee members have no prior history of promoting acts of any form of violence, especially faith based forms.

Further, any member of our community/committee deemed to hold such views will be barred from public office.
